Tour Code: Tour 5
Welcome to the Medici House in Florence, Palazzo Pitti! Live a court life experience in the Medici royal residence, visit with these group tours the excellent Palatine Gallery. Don't worry about the tickets and join our guided tour to discover countless masterpieces, such as A Portrait of Agnolo Doni by Raffaello, the Adoration by the Magi by Pontormo, the bust of Cosimo I by Baccio Bandinelli.
Paintings by Rosso Fiorentino, Tiziano, Paolo Veronese, Vasari, Rubens, Perugino, Van Dyck and Justus Suttermans adorn the spacious rooms decorated with frescoes and elegant stucco decorations that belong to the skillful hand of Pietro da Cortona.
Palazzo Pitti was built by a family of bankers famous in the Renaissance and afterwards acquired by the Grand Duchess of Medici as a ducal family house. Then it was expanded through the centuries becoming a royal residence. In its grand rooms (today the Palatine Gallery) and in the Boboli Gardens this palace received visits of the most prominent figures of culture and science, important statesmen and politicians as well as celebrated artists from all over the world.
During the times when Florence was the capital of the newly established Republic of Italy, Palazzo Pitti had been a royal residence of the Savoia family. So when you enter there you naturally get an impression to be invited to the one of the greatest European courts. Two hours of pure splendor, group tours suitable also for families with children (that will be just enchanted by the gorgeous environments).

Meri Salmi
