You'll start at the amazing, yet subtle church of Santa Maria presso San Satiro, where you will admire an impressive unique fresco by Donato Bramante, the architect of St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican. He deftly solved a complicated problem: what can you do if you do not have enough space to build a larger apse? Simple, paint a fake one!” After this unique stop, the tour will take you to Piazza Affari, before its stock exchange building where you will discover a piece of contemporary art that might shock you or might surprise you: the famous “finger”, by M. Cattelan. Next we will go through narrow, winding streets to take you “back through the years” to get to the celebrated San Maurzio al Monastero Maggiore. This building is a former convent for Milanese nobility, considered the “Sistine Chapel of Milan,” painted by the finest students of Leonardo da Vinci. You will be sure to be astonished!
You'll end your tour at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (a UNESCO world heritage site) and, last but least, admire the Leonardo da Vinci’s magnificent masterpiece “Cenacolo Vinciano” (The Last Supper), where art, history, and mystery merge in a piece that only the greatest genius of the Renaissance could have given us.
