The boats are moved and steered by a long pole that is pushed against the shallow sandy bottom of the river; they have an important historical significance dating back to the Medieval times. Your day will continue with a panoramic tour. A drive along the hills that cradle the city is a must. Take in the breathtaking beauty of Santa Maria del Fiore (and Brunelleschi’s Dome) from the lofty heights of Piazzale Michelangelo, where the red cotto roofs seem within your reach.
