Florence panoramic tour with Pitti Palace

The Galleria Palatina (Palatine Gallery), a private collection of paintings owned by the grand duke, is displayed in the official Palace staterooms. The extraordinary decoration of the Planetary Rooms, designed by the great Baroque painter Pietro da Cortona, creates an overwhelming effect of frescoes and stucco. It forms the background for the superb exhibition of masterpieces from the Medici collections, including artworks by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, and Van Dyck.
